What is a teen success coach?

Think of us as a teen life coach, academic success coach, college advisor, and parent coach all rolled into one. Because of our decades of experience working in schools, we have many skills. Our highly personalized approach to coaching means that your teenagers will love us and have a mentor, cheerleader, advisor, confidant, and friend for life. We genuinely love working with teenagers, and they love working with us! Check out our rave reviews from our students. And that’s saying something because when was the last time your teenager raved about anything?

Do You offer any guarantees?

The only guarantee we can give you is that your student will love working with us and that we have their best interests in mind. Period. Understanding adolescent development and human behavior as intimately as we do, it just isn’t ethical to guarantee a specific outcome. Change takes time, and personal growth is difficult to measure, but we are confident you will start to see a positive change in your child once they start working with us. It’s also important to note that we don’t take every student or family that contacts us. If we don’t think your teen is ready for coaching, we’ll let you know from the start.

how will you get my teen to listen to you?

Well, no offense… but by not being you. Don’t worry, this is a totally natural part of adolescence. Remember your teenage years? We build an authentic relationship with your teen that assures them we’re on their team and that we only exist to help them achieve THEIR goals. We offer a space for them to be themselves without judgment. But that’s not to say we aren’t afraid to hold their feet to the fire when they need it.

Thank you so much for an amazing experience. You have given our daughter the guidance and confidence she needed at the right time. We are looking forward to experiencing her future journey, and all the possibilities she might choose. We also appreciate you keeping us updated all the time. We will surely be back in touch.

WHat does the coaching process entail?

Most teens choose to work with us one-on-one. We meet once a week on Zoom for anywhere from 30-60 minutes. We try to be flexible because we know that distance-learning has made being on Zoom challenging - so when we notice eyes glazing over, we wrap things up. On the same note, if we get into a meaty conversation, we won’t cut the session short. In between coaching sessions, we provide support via text (because that’s where most teens want to hear from us) and schedule additional check-ins, pep talks, meditation sessions, homework checks, and anything else your teen needs to feel supported. We never want our students to feel obligated to spend time with us; coaching should be enjoyable and productive for everyone involved! As far as content is concerned, each engagement is highly individualized to each student’s needs and never looks exactly the same. Our iceberg perfectly explains our philosophy. Better yet, schedule a call with us so we can learn more about your child’s specific needs. Oh, and each coach maxes out at 16 students to ensure that we have enough energy and bandwidth for your child.

what age are the students you work with?

Mostly high schoolers but we also coach plenty of middle schoolers, college students, and even the occasional adult. Because let’s be real, everyone could use a little extra help no matter the age. By the way, you can supercharge your teen’s progress by adding on a parent coaching package for you and your partner.

can we choose who we work with?

Heck yeah! That’s one of the reasons teens love working with us - we give them lots of choice starting from day one. Finding the right coach is a critical component of your teen’s success. The coach matching process starts with your teen looking at our team bios and picking 2-3 coaches to meet with, initially. They can meet with as many coaches as they want to find the right fit. We work collaboratively, so even though your student is working with a single coach, they have a team of people thinking about them and how to best support their success.

I don’t want our sessions to end.

how Much does coaching cost?

We offer coaching at different price points: individual workshops are the most affordable, while one-on-one coaching is priced at a premium because of its limited availability and highly individualized nature. 1:1 teen coaching starts at $4464 for a 3-month engagement, and parent coaching starts at $3500.

can you get my child into [Insert highly selective college]?

The short answer is, no. Our best fit clients are ones who are focused on their child’s well-being and personal character, values, and attitudes rather than college outcomes. Because our team of college coaches are all former admissions officers, we know better than to offer guarantees. We get it. College admissions is scary, opaque, and unpredictable - a guarantee helps you feel more in control. And while we will do our best to help your child shine, we don’t believe it is ethical to offer guarantees.
