“I had a difficult time academically in high school - falling behind in some of my classes. Because of my coach, I was able to bridge the gap in my academic abilities. Over the course of my senior year, she helped me achieve various personal goals that ultimately allowed me to overcome obstacles I didn’t think possible.”

“Village builds relationships with students and helps them be the best humans they can be. They take the "race" element out of the college selection process. Our coach is sharp, funny, flexible, and understanding, and knows when to push and when to back off. My daughter is not an easy customer, and she loves working with her coach. Can't recommend them highly enough.”

— Margot, parent

“Can you move in with us?”

— Ella

“Village truly gets to know their students, learning their needs, and working with them to find a college they are excited about. My son decided to take a year off after high school to travel and applied to colleges after he returned. My family is so thankful for his coach’s commitment, advice, and support during this time. My son had a wonderful college experience, has since graduated and now has a job at a great company. This would not have been possible without his coach.”

— Jeffrey, parent

“Thanks a million for everything you did for me this year. Most of the time you knew what I wanted even better than I did, and it really paid off!”

— Alec

“My coach gives me confidence and motivates me to complete goals in many different aspects of my life. She has encouraged me to set and work towards career goals, connected me with other people for advice, and motivated me to make personal improvements. She has also helped me better understand myself, my values, and what I want to work towards in the future.”

“My coach helped me achieve both academic and personal goals I thought were impossible. Most importantly, she cared and believed in me through it all. Without her, I would not be the successful young woman I am today.” — Dominique

“Our son benefited greatly from working with Village in his senior year. His coach was clear on her directions, set objectives and monitored results. She was enthusiastic, encouraging but not coddling. With us, she was realistic and clear-eyed; she knew our son better than we did (not easy for parents to admit). The end result was better than our expectations. Her assistance to our son was greatly appreciated, and her fee worth every penny.”

— William, parent

“My coach taught me how to speak up for myself more, which has been a huge accomplishment. She pushes me to be a better me.”

— Jennifer

“I struggled academically in high school, often with time management and procrastination, but because of my coach’s guidance and friendship, I was able to correct my past behaviors and reach my full potential as a student in college. She helped me to realize what I was able to accomplish and create several strategies to improve my time management and life-work balance.”

— Lola

“Working with Village was outstanding. They led a parent workshop for families in my school district, and it was one of the best events of the year. Their content was incredibly relevant for families with children of all ages, their presentation was engaging, humorous, and held tons of tips, practical strategies, and data that was immediately useful. We hope to work with them again in the future at our school!”

— Lauren, SMFCSD School Counselor

“I am very lucky to have you, as both a role model and as a constant source of support.”

“My coach’s ability to empathize and hold space are her superpowers. She helped me arrive at my own conclusions, especially when I was stuck in circular thinking and a fixed mindset. She was able to create a space in which I was able to understand and digest my own circumstances. With her help, I was able to build the lasting skills necessary to not only navigate the obstacle in my immediate field of view, but also obstacles I would inevitably encounter in the future. I am happy to say that I still consider her a trusted advisor and dear friend.” — Hunter

“My coach has helped me discover some things I am passionate about such as the outdoors, sustainability and the environment, the stock market, and being a good student and family member. She has given me advice about how to act on my passions. For example, I am going on an outdoor expedition this summer where I will learn about living and surviving in the wilderness, and I am also taking a summer course at Columbia on entrepreneurship and corporate finance. Meeting with my coach has started to help me figure out who I am as a person and what I care about, which has been something I have struggled with for a long time.”

“My coach was more of a life mentor, friend, and second mom to me. I’ve learned how to express myself confidently and eloquently, prioritize my mental and physical wellbeing, and untangle emotional knots and mental blocks to problems both big and small. My coach truly embodies passion, genuine understanding, and kindness. She will, most definitely, positively impact your life.” — Joweina

“What I loved about working with my coach was that I was more than a transcript and Common App essay to her. She took the time to get to know me personally and recommended schools that would not only push me academically, but provide an environment conducive to all forms of growth. I’m very thankful to have had her guidance and mentorship through such an important life decision.”

— Amanda

“Our coach understood my family’s needs and my daughter's strengths and limitations. I trusted her completely - and still do.  I was very comfortable leaving the entire college application process to her and my daughter. My daughter ultimately found a college that was a perfect fit for her, thanks to her work with her coach.”

— Mingjung, parent

“You’re so funny and so energetic, I love it!”

— Andie

“What differentiates Village from other college counselors is their keen perception of the child's feelings and needs. When my sophomore daughter first met her coach, she was really anxious about the college application process and feeling rather inadequate. Her coach helped her to see her strengths and adjust not only her focus on academics but also her extracurricular activities. Her coach guided her through the whole process so that in the end my daughter was a much more confident and resilient student. She is now a graduate student at Stanford University.”

— Angela, parent

“Thinking about my future made me extremely anxious, so I dreaded the college admissions process. My coach's energetic, caring, and approachable personality made me feel safe sharing personal feelings and being vulnerable during our meetings. I knew I could always trust her to listen, understand, and offer advice - she really has a gift for connecting with high-schoolers! Though she is no longer my college coach, she and I have continued to keep in touch, and I still consider her a mentor and friend.’ — Claire

“I don’t even know where to start… You’ve helped me during the college process and acted as a life coach. I don’t know if I’ve ever explicitly thanked you for these things, but it means the world to me. It’s nice knowing that I can have a rock to lean on too. <3”

“We were looking for some professional help for our 10th grader son who really wanted to do well but struggled with organization and time management. The daily nagging and micromanaging was frustrating for us and demoralizing for him. We looked at a couple of different places that offered executive functioning coaching but found Village extremely approachable and empathetic; we connected right away with our coach as did our son. She has been working with him for a little over half a year now and we have seen him apply strategies he learned from her to stay on top of his own schedule and assignments. These skills have proved even more critical since the shelter at home order took effect and disrupted daily routine. Our coach has become not only a mentor for our son but also a trusted advisor for us parents. We value the relationship as much as the service she has provided and give Village our highest recommendation.”

— Joanne, parent

— Christina

“I’m so grateful for all you did. I would have been lost and I know my parents feel the same way. I feel so lucky for how everything worked out and so much of it is due to you. Thanks so much!”

— Maddy
