Adulting 101: Life Skills, Budgets, and Freedom, Oh My!

A Step-by-Step Guide to Leaving Home and Navigating College. 3 session workshop 4/21, 4/28, 5/5 from 5 - 6pm!

OVERVIEW

Is college really that much harder than high school? What if I hate my roommate? Wait, where is my insurance card? Sheets come in extra-long?!

Making the transition from high school to college is an eagerly awaited event, but it also raises a lot of questions; questions that don’t exactly get covered in those admission presentations you sat through in the fall.

In this 3 session class, we’re going to answer those questions! We’ll keep it fun, interactive, but also 100. We’ll talk about roommates, what to do when you get sick, making new friends, how to interact with professors, and so much more! So, whether you’re feeling ready to leave high school or nervous (or both!), this class will equip you with the practical skills to feel more prepared, confident, and excited for the adventure ahead.

SCHEDULE

We’ll meet for 3 sessions on April 21, April 28 & May 5 from 5:00 - 6:00PM

Meet the Facilitator

While Meredith’s Master's in Human Development and Counseling and two decades of experience as a prep school administrator, college counselor, and admission officer make her an “expert” on paper, it’s her day-to-day interaction with adolescents and young adults that mean the most to her and her clients. She sees her own struggle in the young people she works with, and has dedicated her life to helping them align who they are, what they believe, and what they do. Today’s teens and young adults have it hard enough; that’s why Meredith creates a safe, non-judgmental space for them to identify what they want and how to achieve it, all while enhancing their life skills and self-confidence. She’s action-oriented, and playful—you’ll work hard, but there’ll be plenty of joy and humor along the way!
